The Perhimpunan Advokat Indonesia (PERADI), in collaboration with LAWASIA, convened the “Belt and Road Initiative & Employment Law Conference 2025: Update on BRI Policies and Investment Laws in Asia’s Dynamic Markets and Challenges of Employment Law in Asian Countries,” a two-day forum (10–11 August 2025) addressing key regulatory and employment law developments across Asia.
Principal of Alizia & Partners Law Office, Lia Alizia, served as moderator for the session “Gig Economy & Platform Worker Rights: Legislation Updates from Asian Countries,” leading a comparative discussion on how jurisdictions including India, Indonesia, China, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Singapore are addressing the evolving legal complexities of gig work, particularly in relation to social security protections and minimum wage entitlements, while also serving as Event Committee Coordinator, reflecting the firm’s continued commitment to regional legal initiatives.
The event brought together over 100 participants from across Asia-Pacific jurisdictions, covering topics such as investment regulation, sustainability, dispute resolution, and labor frameworks. In his remarks, Otto Hasibuan highlighted the growing role of legal practitioners in supporting investment and economic growth through legal certainty and cross-border collaboration.
The conference also served as a platform to strengthen professional networks and enhance regional legal capacity amid evolving regulatory landscapes.
